Green Party protests on Nov 30th
The following rallies are taking place in our region -
- Leeds - 12 noon, Art Gallery
- Bradford - 11 am, Centenary Square
- Sheffield - 12 noon, Barker's Pool, City Hall
- York - 12 noon, Clifford's Tower, for march to York Minster, for 1pm rally. (facebook) York College march at 10.30am to Minster for 1pm.
- Hull - 11am, Queen Victoria Square
- Halifax - Town Hall Rally, 10am.
- Huddersfield - 10.30, St Georges Square for march and rally.
- Scarbrough - no rally as such. The Green Party will be holding a Stop the Cuts stall in Westborough pedestrian precinct, 12.30 to 3 (weather permitting!)
The proposed sweeping changes by government to pensions will mean all public sector workers:
- having to work up to 3 years longer,
- having to pay more pension money (hundreds of pounds per year), and,
- receive less pension when they retire.
Union members, across the country, representing millions of workers, have voted overwhelmingly for strike action.
